Eighth grade teams took first place in spelling, chess puzzle, and calculator applications. They earned second place in social studies, mathematics, and number sense.

The seventh grade calculator applications team won first place. The social studies, number sense, science, and listening teams all claimed second place. The spelling, dictionary skills, mathematics, and chess puzzle teams all earned third place.

The sixth grade dictionary skill, social studies, chess puzzle, and calculator applications teams all finished in first place. The spelling, and number sense teams earned second place finishes.

The LMS One Act Play production of "John Lennon and Me" finished second at the district contest.

UIL Academic awards will be presented January 29 at 7 p.m. at the Lorena ISD Performing Arts Center.
