Road Improvement Update

Below is an update from the City of Lorena on the current road improvement project.

Attention Lorena residents,

Beginning August 14, 2023 at 7:00 a.m. the bridge in the 1500 block of South Old Temple Road will be closed to all traffic for approximately 6 weeks. During this time no traffic will be allowed to cross the bridge. We are aware that this closure will cause an inconvenience for some of the Lorena residents, however this closure is necessary to complete the repairs to this bridge. We would like to apologize in advance for this inconvenience, knowing that the City of Lorena is working as hard as we can to complete these long overdue repairs. Please help us pass along this information to any you may think will need to be aware of this closure.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we strive to make our community the absolute best it can be.

City of Lorena Update to Paving Schedule - July 24

Lorena please be aware that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control the paving that was set to begin tomorrow has to be pushed back until Thursday, July 27th, and Friday, July 28th. We do apologize for this delay, and any inconvenience that this may cause.

Please be sure to help us pass the word along for this slight change in scheduling. We are super excited to see this first phase of paving as anyone, and know that when we make it through this difficult process Lorena will be a better community. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding while we make the roads better for our citizens.

City of Lorena Message - July 20
EXPECT FULL ROAD CLOSURES JULY 25th & 26th

Good Afternoon Lorena, the City met with the street contractor today, and they will start laying down new asphalt on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. We are expecting this process to take two full days before being complete with this phase of the project. The contractor will start on Leopard Ln.,, then move to Williams Rd., then move to N. Houston St.

Please note that the roads being paved will be fully closed to all thru traffic for a minimum of 24 hours before being reopened for traffic. Please seek alternate routes through Lorena during this time.

If you live in the affected area you will still be able to come and go from your residence, but please expect some delays and be patience during this time. We would politely ask you to keep trips in and out of this area to a minimum during these two days. Also, because our normal trash day is Wednesday, and the trash truck will not be allowed in this area our Public Works Department will pick up your trash and recycle this week. Please have your canisters at the road by 8 am as normal, and please be aware that we may be earlier or later than your used to.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this project while we make Lorena a great community.
