The Lorena Varisty and Junior Varsity cheerleaders spent the early part of June at TCU Cheer Camp. Lorena was the only 3A sqaud at the camp joining teams from 5A and 6A schools but they were still able to bring home multiple awards.
The Lorena Varsity and JV team won awards for Top Chant, Top Band Chant, Technical Excellence for Skill Incorporation in Game Day Cheer, Superior Award in Game Day Cheer, Game Day Chant, and Band Chant and Visual Appeal Award in Band Chant. The LHS cheer squads also won the Herkie Team Award which is voted on by all of the teams.
Cheyenne Gregory, Jayde Davis, Kailyn Landry, Bailee Ragsdale, Kayla Peebles, Remy Gilbert, Kallie Zant, Caitlyn Harmon, and Alysen Taylor were named All-American Cheerleaders.
Davis also received a Pin-It-Forward award for outstanding leadership skills and positive attitude throughout the camp. She was one of only five cheeleaders at the camp selected to receive this award.
